Most of us don’t drink enough water. When you’re on a weight loss program, drinking more water is essential. This is because water helps your body to flush toxins out of your system. Your fat stores actually hold toxins, so as the fat is released, so are the toxins, and you need to drink water to get rid of them for good.
How to tell you’re not drinking enough water:
* You get headaches. You may wake up with a headache, or get one mid-morning, or mid-afternoon;
* You feel tired when you wake up;
* You’re tired mid-morning, and mid-afternoon – the afternoon “slump” is a classic symptom that you’re dehydrated;
* You suffer from constipation.
How to incorporate more water into your diet:
* Drink a glass of water with a slice of lemon when you wake up in the morning;
* Drink a glass of water before each meal, and in between meals. Water actually suppresses your appetite;
* When you feel hungry. Sometimes feeling hungry, is a signal that you’re dehydrated, not that you’re hungry. Sip a glass of water, and see if you’re still hungry in 20 minutes.
