Eat Stop Eat: the "no diet" way to lose weight for good -- and keep it off

Long-term weight loss: you can do it

by angela.booth on June 7, 2007

“Long-Term Weight Loss is Doable” reports:

According to government researchers, long-term weight loss isn’t just possible, it’s happening. Their study of more than 1,300 dieters found nearly six in 10 were able to maintain their original weight loss to within 5 percent over a one year period.

Overall, 7.6 percent of the people in the study were still dropping pounds at one year, 58.9 percent had maintained their weight loss to within 5 percent, and 33.5 percent had gained more than 5 percent of the weight back.

You can lose weight and keep it off, but the key is not to think “diet.”

Think about a better, healthier lifestyle, with some exercise, and you’ll keep the weight off permanently.
