Eat Stop Eat: the "no diet" way to lose weight for good -- and keep it off

Weight loss and obesity: low carb diets may help

by angela.booth on July 20, 2007

If you’re very overweight, a low carb diet may help you to fight metabolic syndrome, which is defined as a collection of metabolic risk factors for obesity.

“Low-Carb Diets Combat Metabolic Syndrome” states:

A low-carbohydrate diet helps people with a condition called metabolic syndrome, a collection of serious risk factors found in some obese individuals.

Now, a new study confirms the diet is effective against the syndrome, and the researchers think they’ve discovered how it works.

Your first step should be a visit to your doctor, who can check your metabolism and overall health.

Low carb diets come into fashion, and then go out of fashion again. They’re very hard to sustain over the long term, however eating a low carb diet has one major benefit: you won’t feel hungry, so they’re ideal as a short term diet to accustom you to eating less.

So consider a low carb diet as an entry into a changed lifestyle: eating less, and eating well, to maintain health and energy for life.
