Eat Stop Eat: the "no diet" way to lose weight for good -- and keep it off

Slimming teas and weight loss: do dieting teas work?

by angela.booth on July 27, 2007

If you’re looking for an easy way to lose weight, you’ll come across “slimming teas” which supposedly help you to lose weight.

These teas work, IF you change your eating habits. If you’re drinking the tea, and are eating sensibly, then you will lose weight, because you’ve cut down the number of calories you’re consuming each day. However, no herbal tea exists which will help you to lose weight if you’re eating too much.

Green tea is good for you

Check the label on a slimmers tea before you buy it. If it includes senna, then the tea will have a laxative effect. Other herbs it contains will have other effects, and you need to know what they are: some herbs are dangerous.

There’s one tea which is safe, and which has the effect of suppressing your appetite. It’s green tea, and it’s widely available.

So before you spend money on a slimming tea, buy and drink green tea. Green tea is healthy, and it does prevent you from over-eating.
