There are many different herbs which are used as weight loss aids. However, some of them, such as herbal laxatives, and herbal stimulants, should be avoided. They’re not healthy, and if you use too many of them they’re dangerous.
Some herbs however are healthy weight loss aids.
Consider:
* Brindleberry (Garcinia cambogia), is known as an appetite suppressant. There are other controversial claims for this herb, as a metabolism-enhancer;
* Ginger root. Buy it fresh at your supermarket. Slice a tablespoon of the root into small dice, and allow to steep in a cup of very hot water, with a teaspoon of honey. Drink the ginger tea when it has cooled. This works not only as an appetite suppressant, but also as a digestive aid, and for energy;
* Green tea works as a digestive aid, an appetite suppressant, and is much healthier than coffee. However, it does contain caffeine, so don’t drink green tea close to bedtime.
Aromatherapy essential oils can also be used to support your weight loss. Try lavender essential oil to relax. Three drops on a tissue, or a cotton ball placed on your desk at work can stave off food cravings.
Basil, cypress and geranium can be used in a massage for water retention. Add a drop of one of the oils to a teaspoon of a carrier oil (almond, olive, grapeseed) and use as a massage.
