Eat Stop Eat: the "no diet" way to lose weight for good -- and keep it off

Is green tea a perfect non-diet weight loss solution?

by angela.booth on March 29, 2008

If you want to lose just a few pounds of weight, green tea may provide the perfect solution. Green tea has been a popular beverage for several thousand years, and many claims have been made for it: weight loss being one of the most popular claims.

Historically green tea is said to be able to help people to lose weight, and over the past decade some 2000 research trials have been done on green tea. It seems that those weight loss claims may well be true.

Here is how green tea can help you to lose weight:

1. Green tea acts as a glucose regulator, it ensures that after a meal your blood sugar level doesn’t drop too rapidly making you hungry.

2. Green tea contains a small amount of caffeine, so it gives you energy

The caffeine in green tea hasn’t been related to any medical concerns. However, if you are very sensitive to caffeine you shouldn’t drink green tea after late afternoon because it may disturb your sleep patterns.

3. Green tea speeds up your metabolism

When your metabolism speeds up, it means you burn more calories, because your body works more efficiently. So this is a great benefit.

4. Green tea acts as an appetite to suppressant

Green tea can regulate your appetite is so that you don’t feel hungry in between meals, and so that you don’t over-eat.

Give a green tea a try; get some green tea bags and drink 3-4 cups a day, and you may well be surprised at the results.
