1. Count your calories: I know, I know, you stopped counting calories either because someone told you that it is ineffective, or that you found it utterly boring. However, remember that body weight has everything to do with calories. If you are overweight, it means that you have consumed more calories than what you burned. Therefore, if your aim is to lose weight, obviously you should reduce your calorie intake. But how would you know how to reduce your calorie intake unless you know your calorie consumption?

Good news is that you won’t have to count the calories all your life. You only need to do it for the first few weeks. For the first few weeks, simply jot down what food you are eating and its calorie content. If you don’t know about the calorie content of a particular item you can always find the information on the internet. Once you get an idea of your daily calorie consumption, it is time to identify the calorie-rich foods and remove them from your list.

If you find it hard to count calories, an alternative approach is to count portion sizes. For your information, your clenched fish is the equivalent of one rice or chicken serving.

2. Eat Small Meals Throughout the day: When you eat large meals, most of the calories you consume through these meals are never used up and are finally deposited as fat. Worse, of you don’t eat for hours, you will inevitably feel hungry and gorge on fatty foods.

The best solution to this problem is to eat small meals at regular intervals. When you eat smaller meals every two or three hours, your body is assured of regular and ample food supply and therefore, won’t tend to deposit fat. Also, if you eat small meals, you will boost your metabolic rate, which in turn will help you burn fat fast.

3. Eat protein rich foods: One of the best ways to burn fat is by eating protein rich foods. Why? We all know that we digest food with the help of our body energy. Interestingly, protein-rich foods need the maximum amount of energy for digesting. Where do you think your body will get this enormous amount of energy from? Of course, by burning your calories and fat deposits.
