Why diet – just take these simple weight loss steps

There are millions of people who are suffering from obesity and related problems, and most of these people are trying very hard to lose weight. They have undoubtedly tried out every available fad diets, weight loss supplements and miracle diet pills out there, but at the end of the day, they failed miserably to lose any weight. Why is it so? Is there something stopping these people from reaching their weight loss goals? In this article I will discuss that.

1. Don’t try to make big changes: It is inevitable that when you are going to lose weight, you will need to make some changes in your lifestyle habits. You will need to eat less and exercise for a considerable time. No longer can you afford to sit around all day watching your favorite TV program. Yes, you need to make these changes, but no one told you that you should make all of these changes at once, right? When you climb the stairs, do you climb one small step at a time, or do you jump several steps (and risk an accident)? It is the same with weight loss – you take it easy and make one small change at a time.

For example, if you hate workouts there is no point in buying a lifetime membership in your local gym. First of all, focus on working out for just fifteen minutes per day, and as you feel comfortable with your exercise routine, increase the duration accordingly.

When you start walking or jogging, do this for a few minutes per day, and increase the intensity once you feel happy with your exercises.

Give your old car a break, and try to walk up to your office or grocery store. Use the stairs instead of the elevator. These small steps will go a long way in helping you to lose weight.

2. Include apples in your diet: Most people don’t know this, but if you can eat three apples a day, you won’t have to suffer from hunger pangs anymore. Apple is a far better appetite suppressant that all those prescription drugs you might be using. Moreover, apple also helps to stabilize your blood sugar level. However, if you don’t feel comfortable eating three apples per day, eat at least one or two.

3. Keep yourself away from fast and refined foods: Fast foods should be avoided for obvious reasons – they are rich in sugar and fat – both of which you must stay away from, if you want to lose weight, that is. Refined foods such as white flour, white bread and sugar should be avoided too, as they contain fast carbs that get converted into fat easily and make you fatter.

Try to replace such unhealthy foods with healthy substitutes such as fiber-rich foods. Fiber can be found in most fruits and vegetables. An advantage of eating a fiber-rich diet is that you won’t feel hungry too often.
