Weight loss – your reasons are vital

by angela.booth on July 5, 2008

Weight loss takes time. And of course the more weight you need to lose, the longer it takes.

Therefore, because it’s such a long process, it’s easy to forget your reasons. You may remember them for a couple of weeks, but soon automatic behavior takes over, and you go back to eating fast food, and you forget to exercise.

Maximum Living’s Weight Loss Challenge | pal-item.com | Palladium-Item reports:

“Bob Bailey, a psychologist at Dunn Center based in Richmond, says to be successful at weight loss, you must decide why you want to do it. The more reasons you have such as looking better or being healthier and the more aware you are of those, the more motivated you’ll be to lose pounds.”

Write your reasons down, and put them somewhere you’ll see them often. Just write them on a sticky note, and put the notes on your car’s dashboard, on the side of your computer monitor, on your bathroom mirror – as many places as possible.

The more you focus on WHY – looking great, more energy, improved health – the more the likelihood that you’ll stick with your weight loss plan.
