Acai Berry for fat loss?

by angela.booth on March 12, 2009

Does acai berry help you to lose weight? This nutritional superfood has created lots of buzz, both pro and con.

Acai Berry – a New Tool in Weight Loss – Weight Loss – Families.com reports:

“According to Dr. Perricone, an expert in the field of weight loss who has studied the fruit, Acai berries help promote a balanced homeostasis in the body, which leads to the individual’s weight leveling out to what it should be. He also believes that because the Acai berry contains cyanidin, which is a highly antioxidant phytochemical compound, the berry helps to reduce fat absorption and ‘draining body fat.’”

I’ve decided that I’d better test it for myself to see what results I get. What intrigues me about acai berry is that it’s said to give you more energy. Although I feel great, I do get very tired at the end of the day.

I bought some acai berry online, and when I opened the jar it’s just a pinkish powder. Eager to try it, I mixed it with some water and drank it. It tastes OK, but in future I’ll have it in juice. :-)

I’ll let you know whether it’s any effect on my energy levels in a couple of weeks.
