Weight loss: you WILL gain weight

Weight loss doesn’t happen as you think it would. You’ve had this experience: you lose a lot of weight in the beginning of your new diet, but then weight loss slows.

The best strategy to fight the pounds is constant vigilance. Weigh yourself every day and monitor how your favorite jeans fit —- when the pants get snug, it is time to redouble your efforts.”

Expect to gain weight after the first few weeks

You may think that if you stop losing, and suddenly gain weight, your diet’s “not working”. You may even give up dieting.

Don’t!

Gaining a couple of pounds is very common; it just means that your body’s adjusting to the new you. PERSIST. This phase can take anywhere from two weeks to a month or more. Just keeping following your diet, and you’ll start losing again.
