5. Late night snacking. Before you curl up with a good book or a favorite television show, give your teeth a thorough brush and floss job. Your mouth will feel so good, you won’t want to mess it up.
6. Exercise boredom. If you’re tired of the same-old, same-old, mix it up a bit. If you walk, try a different route. If you like exercise videos, get a fitness video game. If you work out at home, find a nearby class. You’d be amazed at what a change in routine can do for you.
7. Give yourself a day off. If you are stressed out because you are constantly counting carbs, calories burned, fat grams etc., take a break. Give yourself one day each week as a diet/exercise vacation. Do what you want and enjoy life for a change. When you get back to your regular routine, you’ll feel better.
8. Ditch the diet. Instead of following a rigid diet, worrying about the glycemic index, fat content etc., try the sensible approach: Don’t go back for seconds. Don’t snack between meals. Eat slowly. Drink plenty of water. By following these tips, you’ll drop pounds without getting stressed out.
9. Throw out the scale. Remember, weight can fluctuate by as much as four pounds throughout the day. If you are trying to lose weight primarily to look better, consider how your clothes fit. If they are a bit snug, be a bit tougher on yourself. If they are feeling looser, then relax and be happy that you are headed in the right direction.
