Many food companies proclaim their product is the perfect diet food. While there is no such thing as one perfect food, here are ten foods you should always keep stocked in your pantry, fridge or freezer if you are trying to lose weight and keep it off.
1. Bottled water. Keeping bottles of water in your refrigerator will ensure that you always have a cold, calorie-free beverage on hand whenever you are tempted to snack. Water is the nearest thing to a perfect diet food.
2. Apples. There are many reasons why apples are so good for weight loss: Their sweet or tart flavor will satisfy a sweet tooth. They are high in fiber, thus filling you up quickly with relatively few calories. They are versatile: You can eat them raw or added into your favorite dishes. They are readily available and store well.
3. Oatmeal. Start your day with this quick-to-fix breakfast staple. It is a filling, but low-calorie way to get energized. You can flavor it most any way you want (just don’t add a ton of sugar): try adding apples, bananas, a small amount of honey or berries. You won’t go back to those over- sweetened cold cereals again.
4. Low-fat yogurt. This is an easy way to get the calcium and protein you need. In order to cut back on sugar, get the plain variety and add your own fruit.
5. Brown rice. This grain has a ton of fiber and also works to cleanse your digestive tract of toxins. For this reason, it is far superior to white rice. Granted, it takes a bit longer to cook, but you can buy instant varieties or cook up a large quantity and store it in your refrigerator or freezer.
6. Chicken or turkey breasts. These are excellent because they are low fat protein sources and so versatile, just be sure you cook them properly: Bake or broil them rather than frying them.
7. Tomatoes. Possibly the most versatile product around. They add Vitamin C, Vitamin A and potassium to your diet. They also contain lycopene and beta carotene, which have been proven to fight cancer. You can eat tomatoes raw or enjoy them in easy-to-make salsas or other recipes.
8. Olive oil. Despite claims to the contrary, everyone needs a little fat in their diet. The best form of fat is olive oil, which contains Vitamin E, antioxidants and beta carotene. Use just a little on your salads and in other recipes: You will actually be doing your body a favor.
9. Grapefruit. This has been a diet food staple for years ñ and for good reason: It has vitamin C, potassium and other nutrients. If you have trouble getting past the somewhat bitter taste, try pink grapefruit instead.
10. Spinach. Spinach offers Vitamins C and K, folic acid and a host of other nutrients at the low price of 6.5 calories per cup. Despite the stereotype foisted on kids for decades, spinach actually tastes good when tossed in a salad or sauteed in a small amount of olive oil. Just don’t overcook it or it will become soggy and very unappealing, even to adults.
If you are looking for the perfect diet food, get started with these. If you eliminate the bad foods and add some exercise, you will soon lose weight and look great.

Use affirmations to lose weight
Can you “think thin” and make it work? Yes you can. Weight loss affirmations really work. Here’s what one person said about affirmations with Sculptor 3:
“I purchased Sculptor 3 several months ago. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Over the years, I’ve spent thousands of dollars purchasing all sorts of “self help” books and tapes. Your program is by far the most satisfying to date. It is truly amazing–a well thought out and well developed concept. Additionally, your ongoing support via the newsletters and the extraordinary amount of peripheral materials, sources, and resources make this program one of the best that I have seen.”
