The Atkins diet is an effective quick weight loss diet in which you focus on eating protein-rich foods. You do not have to worry even if you indulge in eggs and bacon, crabs, Swiss and cheddar cheese omelets or even juicy, fat steaks.

As the body is in ketosis, you will feel less hungry and will make you eat less than the usual. Atkins works amazingly and is indeed a good quick weight loss diet.

During the initial phase, it will help you condition your body from burning carbohydrates to burning primarily fat for energy. You are given an average of 20 grams of carbohydrates per day. You will be eating is vegetables low in carbohydrates. Do not worry, the vegetables you will be eating is rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber.

For the second stage, you will eat the ideal amount of protein. You also get to have the luxury of eating plenty of natural fats. You are also allowed to add in higher carbohydrate foods back into your diet. You get to eat nuts, berries, seeds. The tertiary phase will help you learn to control your appetite. You can eat half a cup of white potatoes, all sorts of beans, apples, mango, peach, plum, oatmeal. If you are one who loves pasta, you can eat ¼ cup of whole wheat pasta.

For the last phase, you will be conditioned to make the Atkins diet lifetime maintenance. You will also be trained to master a sensible eating plan. You can continue to consume good fats like olive oil, butter, avocado and the like. You will surely love this quick weight loss diet.
