Here we are at your final day; your 25 days to weight loss ends today.
I know you’ve lost weight. You feel better, and look better too. We’re so proud of all you’ve accomplished. Can you believe how far you’ve come in less than a month? Now that you’ve mastered the fundamentals of weight loss, you can now begin to think of these habits as weight control.
Unlike most diets, you don’t have to move into a maintenance phase — that period of time in which you start adding foods to your diet as you come closer to your goal weight. This plan does not have such a phase because there were never any foods eliminated from your diet to begin with. You always had the ability to eat whatever foods you wanted — as long as you only ate them at meals. Weight control can’t be any easier than this.
Weight control is actually very simple: You use food strictly as it was meant to be used, for food and nothing else. You don’t use food to cope with stress. You don’t use it as a reward. Healthy food is not punishment for cheating on your diet, either.
As you have probably figured out by now, you can use this program as a lifelong weight control method.
If you feel your pants starting to feel a little snug, make sure you are extra diligent in keeping your food journal for the next several days. You’ll soon find out what went awry.
If for some reason, despite all your weight control measures, the scale is still going in the wrong direction, see your doctor. Bring your food journal along to show what you’ve been doing. Sometimes medications or medical issues can be the culprit. Your doctor will appreciate your vigilance.
While we hope you will continue these methods, we also want you to be realistic about weight control. There will be days (even weeks or months) when life gets in the way and you set aside your food journal and you skip your exercise sessions. Sometimes it is necessary to focus on other aspects of your life. But it’s nice to know you have an easy, inexpensive, weight control method on hand to help you get back on track when life settles down.
You can also use this program to help your family control its health. Challenge each family member to keep his or her own journal and to skip sweets and second helpings. Pretty soon they won’t miss them either. Make a family walking challenge and see who can rack up the most miles this week.
We realize that 25 days may not have been enough time for you to reach your ultimate goal. That’s all right — you know all you need in order to keep going. You’ll get there — we know it.
Thank you for coming along with us on this journey. At last, you’ve found out what will work for you so you escape the diet trap forever.
