We’re told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and so it is, especially if you’re trying to lose weight. I’ve had several questions about easy and delicious breakfast ideas, so here we go — enjoy.
Here’s my favorite, which I mentioned in this article, Easy Weight Loss Breakfast Recipes | Weight Loss: Thirty Days to a Slimmer You. Try a:
“Fruit smoothie. This is a great way to get something sweet and yet nutritious to help wean you away from those sugary breakfast cereals. Empty one single-serving container of plain low- or non-fat yogurt into your blender or food processor. Add one half-cup of your favorite fruit. Try berries, bananas, or any other fruit you like. Blend the mixture for a half-minute and pour into a tall glass. For an extra frothy version, add crushed ice.”
Also try:
* A couple of bananas. Even if you’re not on the famous morning banana diet (my own favorite weight loss and weight loss maintenance diet, BTW), a couple of bananas, with water, are a wonderful way to start the day. You’ll have so much energy you’ll fly through your morning — and you won’t be hungry.
* Yoghurt. REAL yoghurt, not the “fat free” kind. A recent study suggested that people who ate fat free foods tended to put on weight. No idea why this is, other than the fact that you do need fats in your diet, and when you don’t get them, your metabolism suffers.
* Dried fruit. If you’re in a rush, just pop a small handful of dried raisins into a cup or plastic bag on your way out the door. If you have half a minute, mix a tablespoon of peanut butter with a tablespoon of raisins and slather on a piece of bread. Fold the bread, and eat.
* Frozen fruit. Pop a couple of bananas in the freezer, and eat them for breakfast — with a spoon. Delicious and creamy. Or grab a cup of blueberries and wiz them in a blender with a cup of yoghurt.
* Decadent: raisin bread. Toast a thick slice, and eat. Yes, you can scrape some butter across it.
